Road work & travel

I-43 resurfacing in Sheboygan County is slated to begin Monday, March 2, with work on about 10 miles from Wilson/Lima Road (Town of Wilson) to WIS 42 (Town of Sheboygan). Expect lane reductions and periodic ramp closures as the project moves through the 2026 construction season; WisDOT’s project page includes the current overview and updates.

Local government

City of Sheboygan meeting agendas/minutes (Common Council and committees) are posted on the city’s Municode portal. Residents can use the directory to find upcoming meetings and open the agenda/packets for items coming up in early March.

City Plan Commission met Tuesday, February 24 at 4:00 p.m., with the agenda and packet available online for anyone who wants to review what was on the docket.

Schools

Sheboygan Area School District posts Board of Education schedules, agendas, and meeting documents online. The district’s Board of Education page lists upcoming committee and regular meetings (including times and the 3330 Stahl Road location), and provides access to February 2026 meeting materials for recent board business.

Public safety

Sheboygan Police Department announced its customer service window will be temporarily closed today (Thursday, February 26) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a staff meeting. The department notes the closure does not affect normal law enforcement operations, and payments can be placed in the drop box; normal operations resume at 2:30 p.m.

Community & library

Mead Public Library lists several items for this week, including the ongoing ‘America 250- Patriots of the American Revolution: Legacies in Wisconsin’ traveling exhibit (running through February 28). For today (Feb. 26), the library calendar also lists Tax-Aide free tax preparation service (appointments available during the season), and notes Toddler Storytime as cancelled today.
