Adell Roundup: I-43 Lane Closures and Spring Election Results
It’s been a busy stretch for transportation and civic activity affecting Adell residents. Major interstate work continues nearby, spring election results are now official, and additional highway repairs are underway across the county.
I-43 Resurfacing Project Continues Near Adell
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s $21 million I-43 resurfacing and bridge maintenance project remains underway in Sheboygan County. The work covers roughly 10 miles of interstate from Wilson/Lima Road to WIS 42.
Construction began March 2 and will continue through fall 2026. Drivers should expect long-term lane closures on I-43 through July, followed by intermittent closures into November. Bridge maintenance, guardrail replacement, and pavement resurfacing are part of the project.
Later this summer, several ramps at WIS 23 will close for approximately 35 days, with posted detours. Ramps at County V, WIS 28, and WIS 42 are also scheduled for brief two-day closures at various points this construction season.
For Adell commuters heading toward Sheboygan, Plymouth, or Milwaukee, travel times may fluctuate, especially during peak hours. Checking 511 Wisconsin before longer trips is advised.
Highway 23 and Area Repairs This Week
In addition to the interstate project, maintenance crews have been conducting beam guard repairs along Highway 23 between County Road P and County Road S. While these repairs are short-term, drivers may encounter reduced speeds and minor delays during daytime work hours.
With Highway 23 serving as a key east-west route for residents traveling toward Plymouth or Fond du Lac, even brief work zones can impact daily routines.
Spring Election Results Finalized
Wisconsin’s spring general election was held Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Voters across Sheboygan County cast ballots for statewide judicial seats and local offices, including school board and municipal positions.
Results have now been certified at the state and county levels. Residents who voted absentee or in person can review final tallies through official state and local reporting channels. The election included a regularly scheduled Wisconsin Supreme Court race along with various local contests.
With spring elections complete, newly elected officials in area municipalities and school districts will begin their terms in the coming weeks.
Looking Ahead
As construction season ramps up and newly elected officials prepare to take office, residents can expect additional public notices related to road work, board reorganizations, and seasonal community events.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, especially along I-43 and Highway 23 corridors that serve Adell and surrounding communities.
