Sheboygan Gas and Diesel Ease Since Sept. 25; Diesel Still Tops $6
Regular gas and diesel both eased in AAA’s Sept. 28 Sheboygan metro price check. Regular averaged $4.3505 per gallon, down 4.65 cents from Sheboygan Life’s Sept. 25 check. Diesel averaged $6.4829, down 8.64 cents. Both averages were also below their week-ago levels.
What changed at the pump
AAA’s week-ago Sheboygan metro averages were $4.4330 for regular gas and $6.5694 for diesel. That puts the latest figures 8.25 cents lower for regular and 8.65 cents lower for diesel.
The declines have not erased the longer-term increase. AAA’s Sept. 28 regular average was above its month-ago figure of $3.7981 and year-ago figure of $2.7770. Diesel was also above its month-ago average of $5.2907 and year-ago average of $3.4394. It remains above $6 per gallon.
What local drivers should watch
The lower regular-gas average may modestly ease costs for Sheboygan County commutes, school runs and errands. At the latest average, a 10-gallon fill would cost about 47 cents less than at the Sept. 25 benchmark. Diesel above $6 remains a significant expense to watch for contractors, delivery drivers, farmers and other fuel-intensive businesses.
AAA’s metro averages are benchmarks, not a survey of every station or a guaranteed price at an individual pump. For broader context, the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly figures for Sept. 21, released Sept. 22, showed U.S. regular gas at $4.478 and Midwest regular at $4.386 per gallon; diesel was $6.529 nationally and $6.680 in the Midwest. Those figures rose from the prior week, but they are an earlier regional and national snapshot—not a same-day comparison with Sheboygan.
