Sheboygan County Gas & Diesel Watch for Monday, May 25: Regular Gas and Diesel Ease Again
Sheboygan-area drivers are seeing a small break at the pump this Memorial Day Monday. AAA’s May 25 Sheboygan metro average puts regular gas at $4.406 and diesel at $5.791. Both are down from the last check on May 22, and both are also lower than a week ago. Even so, regular gas is still 48.6 cents higher than a month ago and $1.361 higher than a year ago, while diesel is up 95.5 cents from a month ago and $2.562 from a year ago.
What changed at the pump
Regular gas is down 6.8 cents since the previous Sheboygan Life check, and diesel is down 8.3 cents. The drop is welcome for holiday driving, but Sheboygan’s regular average remains a little above the Wisconsin average and diesel is still above both the Wisconsin and U.S. averages.
Diesel is still the tighter squeeze
Diesel remains the bigger pressure point for work trucks, delivery fleets, farmers, restaurants, and other small businesses that burn through fuel quickly. A few cents lower helps, but the price is still high enough to show up in operating budgets, especially heading into a busy holiday stretch.
What local drivers should watch
For commuters and weekend travelers, the good news is that Memorial Day fill-ups are cheaper than they were late last week. The caution is that prices are still far above month-ago and year-ago levels, so a full tank is not back to normal. If you are out around Sheboygan County, share the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing locally.
