Sheboygan’s next large item disposal day is June 20 at the Municipal Service Building
Sheboygan residents can mark Saturday, June 20, 2026, for the city’s next Large Item Disposal Day. The drop-off window runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Municipal Service Building, 2026 New Jersey Avenue.
The service is for City of Sheboygan residents only, and proof of residency is required before drop-off. The city also says it may reject commercial loads, loads from outside city limits, and any item not on the accepted list.
What the city will accept
Accepted items include bagged or boxed trash, household furniture, mattresses and box springs, toys and swings, scrap metal, and miscellaneous junk.
What the city will not accept
Hazardous waste, tires, construction materials such as roofing, drywall, tiles, and paint, freon appliances, yard waste, and electronic waste will not be accepted. For yard waste, used oil, cooking oil, antifreeze, non-freon appliances, and automobile batteries, the city directs residents to the Residential Recycling Center at the east gate of the Municipal Service Building.
How traffic will flow
Drivers should enter from the west, using Virginia Avenue from South 22nd Street. Parking on the east side of 22nd Street between New Jersey Avenue and Evans Street will be prohibited during the event, and traffic will exit to the south on New Jersey Avenue. Residents should be in line by 12:30 p.m. so they have enough time to unload before the event ends.
The city says the Large Item Disposal Day series runs on the third Saturday of each month from May through October, giving households a predictable way to clear out bulky items through the fall.
