Sheboygan County hazardous waste drop-off season starts May 18 in Sheboygan Falls
Sheboygan Falls, WI — May 18, 2026
Sheboygan County’s 2026 household hazardous waste season starts Monday, May 18, at the county’s semi-permanent drop-off site at 640 Forest Ave. in Sheboygan Falls. The key change this year is that residents must choose a drop-off date in advance, pay online with a credit card, and bring proof of payment when they arrive.
The county says the season runs through Thursday, Oct. 16, with drop-off windows on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The program is for Sheboygan County residents only.
What it costs
County materials list three fee levels: $20 per vehicle for household hazardous waste only, $40 per vehicle for small household electronic waste only, and $40 per vehicle for both household hazardous waste and small household electronic waste. Credit cards are the only accepted form of payment, and the county says cash and checks are not accepted.
What to check before you leave
Accepted items include flammable liquids, cleaners, oil-based paint, household batteries, aerosols, solvents, acids and bases, poisons, varnishes, old gasoline, antifreeze, thinners, and most small electronics.
Latex paint and large appliances are not accepted, so residents should review the county’s item list before loading up the car.
If you are clearing out a garage, basement, or shed this spring, the safest move is to reserve a date first and keep the receipt handy. That should help the drop-off line move more smoothly and avoid a return trip.
