City of Sheboygan parklet returns to St. Clair Avenue through Oct. 31
Sheboygan, WI — May 21, 2026.
The Uptown Parklet is back on St. Clair Avenue in downtown Sheboygan. The City of Sheboygan says the block between North 8th Street and North 9th Street is temporarily closed to vehicles while the seasonal setup is in place.
What changed on the block
According to the city’s Public Works notice, the parklet began May 11 and turns part of the street into a temporary public gathering space. The area includes seating and landscaping, with a pedestrian-focused layout intended to create a more walkable stretch of downtown, encourage non-motorized transportation, and support local businesses.
For drivers, the practical change is simple: plan for vehicle access to be blocked on that section of St. Clair Avenue while the parklet is in place. Pedestrians and visitors can use the space as a place to sit, pause, and spend time downtown.
How long it will stay
The city says the Uptown Parklet will remain through Oct. 31, 2026. That makes it a seasonal access change rather than a permanent closure, but it is still worth noting if you commute through downtown or plan to shop, dine, or walk in the area.
