Waves and currents remain dangerous
The NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office issued the statement at 3:15 a.m. CDT Wednesday, September 23. It warns of life-threatening waves measuring 3 to 6 feet, dangerous structural and longshore currents, and possible rip currents along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The NWS advises people to stay out of the water during the active period. Visitors should also stay away from piers, breakwalls and other exposed shoreline structures, where waves and currents can create especially dangerous conditions.
