Boaters, anglers and charter operators using Lake Michigan near Sheboygan should monitor updated marine forecasts before heading out Saturday afternoon, August 29, or Sunday, August 30.
The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued at 12:55 p.m. CDT Thursday, August 27, that southerly winds and building waves may reach Small Craft Advisory levels Saturday afternoon into Sunday on the nearshore waters from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. The approved outlook does not document an active Small Craft Advisory.

The NWS Sheboygan marine point forecast, updated at 6:06 p.m. CDT Thursday, August 27, calls for Sunday south winds of 15 to 20 knots and waves of 3 to 5 feet near the Sheboygan point. Thunderstorms may also become possible after 1 p.m. Sunday.
For land areas, the NWS Sheboygan County forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms to become more likely Saturday night and continue as a possibility Sunday, adding another reason for boaters to keep plans flexible.
