Tuesday, August 25: Planned Water Shutdown Affects Part of Sheboygan
Sheboygan, Wis. — Tuesday, August 25, 2026: Sheboygan Water Utility plans a temporary water shutdown in part of the City of Sheboygan while planned water-main work is completed.
The interruption is expected to begin at 8 a.m. and continue until approximately 3 p.m. Both the shutdown and restoration times are estimates and may change as the work progresses.
Streets included in the planned shutdown
The affected area includes:
- Wilgus Avenue between Taylor Park and Erie Avenue
- North Evans Street south of Erie Avenue
- Erie Avenue between North 25th Street and Kohler Memorial Drive
The utility said affected customers were notified by door hanger or phone call. The notice applies to the listed streets and nearby customers, not necessarily every customer in the surrounding area.
What to do before 8 a.m.
Residents in the affected area should store enough water for drinking, cooking, washing and toilet flushing before service is interrupted. During the shutdown, customers should avoid operating faucets.
What to do after service returns
Water may appear discolored when service is restored. Do not use discolored water for drinking or cooking until it clears.
To flush the plumbing, run cold water from a faucet closest to the water meter. If the water does not clear within five to 10 minutes, turn it off, wait about 30 minutes and try again.
If reduced flow continues after cleaning a faucet aerator, customers can contact Sheboygan Water Utility during normal business hours. The utility emphasized that both the work schedule and restoration timing are approximate.
