Tonal Impressionist Oil Painting Class Returns to Sheboygan

Sheboygan Visual Artists is bringing back its Tonal Impressionist Oil Painting class in September after a popular first session.

The four-week course will meet Tuesday evenings at the SVA Gallery on South Pier Drive. The class focuses on the fundamentals of tonal painting, giving participants an opportunity to explore light, shadow, value and color while creating still life paintings in oils.

Tonal Still Life Painting in Oils

Students can choose to paint from a live still life arrangement provided during class or work from a still life photograph. The four-week format gives painters time to develop their technique while working through compositions from initial observation to finished paintings.

The class is open to artists interested in learning or strengthening their tonal painting skills.

Class Dates and Location

Classes will be held Tuesdays, September 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cost: $50 for all four classes

The September session is being offered following demand for another opportunity to participate in the Tonal Still Life Painting in Oils course.
