What the project work involves
WisDOT/511 connects the closure to the WIS 28 Resurfacing and Bridge Replacement project. According to WisDOT/511’s project materials, the work includes replacing a deteriorated structure at the Onion River Tributary located about 0.25 miles southwest of the WIS 28 and County N intersection, along with resurfacing/milling and paving work in the WIS 28 corridor.
WisDOT/511 also notes the project began July 6, 2026, and is expected to finish late October 2026.
What to do next
- Allow extra time for detours around the WIS 57 / County N area during Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 24, 2026.
- Follow posted construction signage and any traffic-control directions in the work zone.
