Small Craft Advisory starts Thursday night on Lake Michigan
NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan issued a Small Craft Advisory Wednesday, May 20 at 2:08 p.m. CDT for the nearshore waters from Port Washington to North Point Light. The advisory begins at 10 p.m. Thursday, May 21 and stays in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, May 22.
The marine weather message calls for east-northeast winds of 10 to 20 knots with gusts up to 25 knots and says conditions will be hazardous to small craft. The Hazardous Weather Outlook says the advisory continues through Friday evening because of persistent easterly winds.
For Sheboygan County boaters, marina users, charter plans, and anyone heading out on Lake Michigan, the practical move is to delay small-craft trips and check updated NWS guidance before launching.
