City of Sheboygan Acquires Esslingen Park and Expands its Boundaries
The City of Sheboygan is expanding its territory and gaining a park, Esslingen Park, located south of Lower Falls Road. The annexation was approved by the City Plan Commission last week, which also approved a conditional use permit for the new location of Four Seasons Comfort and multi-tenant use at 1416 Kentucky Ave.
Annexation of Esslingen Park
The annexation of Esslingen Park was a result of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) petitioning the City of Sheboygan to annex a single-family home across the street from the Art Preserve. After City officials discussed the matter with Sheboygan County, which owns Esslingen Park, it was agreed that including the park would clean up some municipal boundary issues. City policy requires the annex petitioner to pay the taxes, but as the arrangement benefits the boundary issues, the City instead will pay the Town of Sheboygan’s portion of the taxes for five years.
Expansion of Four Seasons Comfort
The City Plan Commission also approved a conditional use permit for the new location of Four Seasons Comfort. The heating and cooling business will double its square footage and move from its current location at W2074 Garton Rd in the town of Sheboygan to 3313 N. 15th St in the city of Sheboygan.
Multi-Tenant Use at 1416 Kentucky Ave
A conditional use permit was granted to allow multi-tenant use at 1416 Kentucky Ave, which was previously occupied by Edgewater Plumbing. The property will now be the future home of Shorty’s Rust Free Rigs, a dealership that sells rust-free vehicles from the southern and western United States. The multi-tenant use will allow the property owner to lease unused space.
The City of Sheboygan is growing and acquiring a new park, Esslingen Park, and expanding its boundaries. The annexation of the park, along with the approval of the conditional use permit for Four Seasons Comfort and multi-tenant use at 1416 Kentucky Ave, will bring new opportunities and growth to the city.
