Upcoming Developments in Sheboygan County for 2023: Popeyes, Hobby Lobby, and Housing
Sheboygan County has several new developments in store for 2023. These include new restaurants and businesses, as well as housing projects.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is expected to begin construction at 3207 S. Business Drive in April, with an expected opening date to be determined. The 2,600-square-foot fast-food restaurant will have a drive-thru and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Olive Garden and another Culver’s location are also expected to begin construction this spring. Olive Garden will be located at the northeast corner of Highway 42 and Interstate 43 in the town of Sheboygan and is expected to open late 2023 or early 2024. The Culver’s location could open in Oostburg by the summer or early fall.
Johnston’s Bakery is planning a $1 million expansion of its frozen dough facility at 3320 Weeden Creek Road. The expansion will add 10,450 square feet for production and cold storage to the existing 19,200-square-foot facility. Construction is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by September 2023.
Hobby Lobby is expected to open this spring in the former Shopko building, occupying about 25,200 square feet. Construction is also planned to begin in the spring for Sheboygan County’s first Jiffy Lube in the former Shopko parking lot. The $1.4 million project is expected to be completed in September.
Sheboygan Auto Group is planning to build a new car wash, quick lube, and emission testing facility in March at 2701 Washington Ave. The estimated $2.8 million project will combine services in one new facility, expected to be completed in September.
Construction is expected to begin in June for a Courtyard Hotel by Marriott on South Taylor Drive. The four-story hotel will have 117 guest rooms.
