What changed in the Monday morning update
In an Area Forecast Discussion issued at 6:02 a.m. CDT Monday, August 24, NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan said the best support for showers and thunderstorms should arrive from overnight Tuesday into late Wednesday morning. The system is expected to clear southern Wisconsin by Wednesday afternoon.
NWS said strong or severe storms appear unlikely, although the risk is not zero because wind shear will remain present. This is a future-facing forecast update, not an active severe-weather warning or watch for Sheboygan County.
Timing for Sheboygan County
The NWS forecast for the Sheboygan County zone, updated at 7:31 a.m. CDT Monday, calls for a 50% chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms Tuesday night. Wednesday carries a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Monday, August 24, and Tuesday daytime are expected to be generally favorable for outdoor plans, but residents should allow for changing conditions Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. The current forecast does not support treating this as a likely severe-storm outbreak.
Boating note for Lake Michigan
NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan also identified a possible brief period of Small Craft Advisory conditions Tuesday afternoon, particularly north of Milwaukee, on nearshore waters that include the Sheboygan area. The approved Monday morning update does not identify an issued Small Craft Advisory.
Boaters and anglers should check the latest marine forecast before heading out Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. Residents should also monitor updated NWS information before evening travel and outdoor plans, since storm timing and intensity can change before August 25–26.
