Sheboygan, WI Gas & Diesel Watch: Regular Gas Falls Below $3.90 While Diesel Holds Above $5
Sheboygan, WI — Friday, August 7, 2026.
Regular gasoline prices fell below $3.90 per gallon in the latest Sheboygan metro check, while diesel moved higher and remained above the $5 mark.
What changed at the pump
AAA’s price check dated Friday, August 7, lists the Sheboygan metro average for regular gasoline at $3.8927 per gallon. That is down 9.87 cents from the previous Sheboygan Life fuel-price check on July 31, giving gasoline shoppers a modest break for weekend driving, errands and family travel.
Diesel moved in the opposite direction. The Sheboygan metro average was $5.0400 per gallon, up 1.66 cents from the previous check. Diesel remains above $5, keeping fuel costs elevated for work trucks, delivery vehicles, farm equipment and other diesel-dependent operations.
Regular gas falls below $3.90
Sheboygan’s regular-gas average is nearly level with Wisconsin’s $3.8897 average. AAA’s figures also show that regular gas remains about 40.9 cents higher than one month ago and roughly $1.03 higher than one year ago, even after this week’s decline.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s August 4 update, using averages as of August 3, lists U.S. gasoline at $4.079 per gallon. That puts the Sheboygan metro regular-gas average below the national weekly figure.
Diesel stays above $5
Sheboygan diesel is below Wisconsin’s $5.0958 average, but the local metro figure remains a significant operating cost. Diesel is about 36.8 cents higher than one month ago and approximately $1.58 above its level from a year earlier. The EIA reported a national on-highway diesel average of $5.348 per gallon as of August 3.
For Sheboygan County commuters and households, the lower gasoline price may offer a little breathing room at the pump. Businesses that rely on diesel—including contractors, farmers, delivery drivers, restaurants and service companies—may continue watching transportation costs closely. Station prices can vary, so drivers should compare nearby pumps before filling up for weekend trips or local events.
What local drivers should watch
The next Sheboygan check will show whether gasoline stays below $3.90 and whether diesel continues moving above $5. These metro averages are useful for tracking the trend, but individual station prices may be higher or lower.
