City of Sheboygan: Large Item Disposal Day set for Saturday, July 18 (22nd St parking ban)

City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works is bringing back Large Item Disposal Day for bulky items on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Municipal Services Building, 2026 New Jersey Avenue.
Parking and traffic routing during the July 18 event
- No parking is set for the east side of 22nd Street between New Jersey Avenue and Evans Street during the event.
- City guidance says traffic entering the event will use Virginia Avenue from S. 22nd Street.
- Traffic exiting will be required to go south on New Jersey Avenue.
Who can use it and what to know before you arrive
- City residents only: the notice specifies the disposal day is for City of Sheboygan residents.
- Bring proof of residency before unloading.
- Be lined up by 12:30 p.m. so staff can manage unloading time; vehicles arriving after this time may be turned away.
- Residents must unload their own vehicle or trailer.
Items accepted and items not accepted
DPW says accepted items include:
- Bagged or boxed trash
- Household furniture
- Mattresses & box springs
- Toys, swings, etc.
- Scrap metal
- Miscellaneous junk
Items not accepted include:
- Hazardous waste
- Tires
- Construction materials (roofing, drywall, tiles, paint, etc.)
- Freon appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, freezers, etc.)
- Yard waste (tree branches, brush, leaves, grass, garden debris, etc.)
- Electronic waste (microwaves, TVs, stereos, computers, printers, DVD players, etc.)
Weather note: the city says the collection event may be cancelled or closed early for safety reasons if severe inclement weather occurs.
