Grant support keeps Make Your Mark growing
The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce has received a $250,000 Talent Recruitment Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to keep its Make Your Mark program moving forward.
WEDC announced the award on May 8. The Chamber’s program is designed to help newcomers put down roots in Sheboygan County by connecting them with jobs and transition support.
According to the Chamber and local follow-up coverage, that support can include help with housing, childcare, healthcare, and other community resources. The goal is simple: make it easier for people who want to live here to find work and get settled.
For local employers, the program also serves as a recruiting tool. It gives businesses a way to reach people who are considering a move and may already be looking for a job in the county.
The Chamber’s Make Your Mark career fair and newcomer networking event is also on the calendar for Thursday, May 28, at Blue Harbor Resort, 725 Blue Harbor Dr., Sheboygan. It adds a practical example of how the program is being used right now.
For residents, this is the kind of good-news update that can matter beyond the office: more help attracting workers, more support for new neighbors, and another boost for Sheboygan County’s local economy.
