Sheboygan Theater Company Announces Auditions for “Into the Woods”

SHEBOYGAN, WI, November 28, 2023 – The Sheboygan Theater Company (STC) is inviting local talent to step into a world of magic and music as it holds auditions for its upcoming production of “Into the Woods”. Celebrating its 90th Season, STC continues to foster community spirit and theatrical brilliance in Sheboygan.

Audition Details and Dates
The auditions are scheduled for December 12 and 13, 2023, at Horace Mann Middle School. Directed by Zachariah Stearn and accompanied musically by Tom Kamenick, the auditions promise to be a blend of excitement and professional artistry. The company emphasizes an inclusive casting approach, welcoming performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities.

Audition Requirements
Participants are expected to perform a 32-bar cut from a traditional musical theater song, steering clear of pop musical numbers. They should bring their own sheet music, as an accompanist will be provided. The audition process will include cold readings and a singing portion, offering a comprehensive evaluation for prospective cast members.

The Production
“Into the Woods” is renowned for its captivating blend of dark humor and the intricate weaving of classic fairy tales. STC’s production aims to bring a fresh perspective to this beloved musical, inviting audiences of all ages into a thrilling theatrical journey. The show is scheduled to open in early February 2024 at the Leslie W. Johnson Theater, located on the Horace Mann Middle School campus.
