Sheboygan’s Call to Serve: Governor Seeks New Sheriff as Cory Roeseler Announces Retirement
Sheboygan, prepare to don your badges! Wisconsin’s Governor Tony Evers is on the lookout for a committed individual ready to step into the role of Sheboygan County sheriff. This significant announcement rolled out just after Sheriff Cory Roeseler declared his plans to retire on June 3, to dedicate more time to family. Having led with integrity since 2018, Roeseler’s shoes will be tough to fill and his departure marks the end of an era.
Following his announcement on April 30, Governor Evers swiftly opened the floor for applications, inviting leaders from our community to step up and continue maintaining justice and safety across Sheboygan. The successor will hold the reins until January 2027, completing Roeseler’s term.
If you think you have what it takes to lead, safeguard, and inspire, consider this your invitation from the Governor’s office. Pull up your socks and apply via the “Apply to Serve” page on Gov. Evers’ website under the “Register of Deeds, Coroner, and Sheriff” section. Mark your calendars, as the application cuts off sharp at 5 p.m. on May 15.
For those mulling it over, questions about the application and selection process can be shot over to GO********************@wi*******.gov or dialed in at 608-266-1212.
This is more than a job—it’s a calling! Are you ready to serve and shape the future of Sheboygan County?
