A Day of Celebrations and Community Spirit

Sheboygan’s beloved Freedom Fest is set to return on July 4th, promising a day filled with fun, festivities, and patriotic pride.

The day will kick off bright and early at 7:30 a.m. with the Freedom Run, hosted by the Sheboygan YMCA. This energizing start will set the tone for the rest of the day’s activities, encouraging community members of all ages to come together in celebration of Independence Day.

At 9 a.m., the highly anticipated Independence Day Parade will march through the heart of Sheboygan. Starting at North Eighth Street and Center Avenue, the parade will wind its way to Michigan Avenue before making its final turn onto Broughton Drive. Spectators can look forward to an array of vibrant floats, marching bands, and local organizations showcasing their pride and creativity. The parade is always a highlight, bringing joy and a sense of unity to all who attend.

Following the parade, Fountain Park will come alive with Music in the Park, providing the perfect setting for families and friends to relax and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Afternoon and Evening Festivities at Deland Park

Starting at noon, Snake Oil Salesman Acoustic will set the tone with their unique sound, followed by Bare Bones Blind at 2:30 p.m. Their soulful tunes will pave the way for MonRo’s performance at 5 p.m., ensuring the energy remains high as the day moves into evening. The musical finale will feature the Drugstore Cowboys at 7:30 p.m., whose lively performance will keep the crowd entertained as anticipation builds for the grand fireworks display.

At 9:30 p.m., the skies over Sheboygan will light up with a spectacular fireworks show on the lakefront near South Pier. This dazzling display will be a fitting conclusion to a day filled with celebration, drawing families and friends together to marvel at the colorful explosions lighting up the night sky. For those looking to continue the festivities, Harbor Lights at 434 Pennsylvania Ave. will host a brat fry and live music throughout the day. Opening at 8 a.m., the bar will feature performances by Uncle Meat at noon and Boa and the Constrictors at 5 p.m. Additionally, Driftwood South Pier will offer more live music and concessions, ensuring there’s no shortage of entertainment options.
