The twinkling of Christmas lights, the sounds of Christmas carols, the joy of finding the right gift for family and friends, the pleasure of listening to Wisconsin authors read from their holiday books, the crackle of a fire, and the warmth of drinking and eating holiday treats are all the sensations that you will experience when you visit the Festival of the Trees by Campus Life Family Ministries this November 22 (3-8pm), 23 & 25-26 (10am-8pm).
This fun, family-friendly, Christmas experience will be a thrill for people of all ages because there is something for everyone. Who doesn’t like strolling through a Christmas wonderland of decorated Christmas trees of all sizes, wreaths, centerpieces, and nativity displays that have all been decorated and donated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. As a visitor to the festival, you get to vote on your favorite display in each category, and a winner will be declared at the end of the festival and posted online. As you meander through the displays, it’s likely you will find something you love and wish you could have. Wonderful! All the displays will be available through an online auction. Lucky for you, your Christmas decorating just got easier. All you simply need to do is win the bid, and the decoration is yours–all ready for Christmas.
Walking through a Christmas festival would hardly be complete without hearing the familiar carols and songs of the season. Local performers will be providing live music opportunities. If you desire to participate and share your musical talents, you may sign-up by going to our website at www.gocampuslife.com/fot.
Not only can you enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas at the Festival of the Trees, you can also shop our holiday marketplace where finding that special gift for your family and friends just got easier. There is nothing more exciting than the feeling of finding that personalized present you know they will love. We have many unique, handcrafted items available for purchase.
The festival fun does not stop there! We are hosting two Wisconsin authors, Cynthia Ruchti and Todd Zimmerman, to read from their holiday books, do signings, and visit with the attendees. Cynthia is an award-winning, Christian author whose books tell stories that are hemmed in Hope through her novellas, novels, devotions, and nonfiction books. She will be reading from a collection of her holiday novels on Saturday, November 23, at 11:00, 1:00, 3:30, and 6:30. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear the story read right from Cynthia and then be able to have her sign your book and visit directly with her. Such an amazing opportunity. Monday and Tuesday, November 25th & 26th, we will be hosting Sheboygan native children’s author, Todd Zimmerman, as he reads from his seven-book series starting with Oliver the Ornament. In addition to Todd reading from his book, he is conducting a kindness program for kids to participate in. The program, including his reading, is about an hour in length. He will also be available to sign books and visit with. This is a great opportunity for parents and children or grandparents and grandchildren to listen to a meaningful Christmas story with fun activities to follow. Come out on Monday & Tuesday, November 25th & 26th at 10:30, 1:30 or 6:30 to hear from Todd. Don’t miss out on these fabulous chances to meet an acclaimed author while enjoying a holiday inspired message.
Holiday refreshments are the cherry on the top of the festival. Holiday baked goods and snack treats are available to enjoy. We are also hosting Sacred Grounds Coffee truck, who will be at the festival serving up her festive drink delights. Love being outside and enjoying the crackle and warmth of a fire. Well perfect, look no further than the bonfire here at the festival where you can enjoy the warmth of a fire, a good drink, and the deliciousness of a smore.
