City of Sheboygan Mayor’s International Committee Announces Inaugural “Journey to Japan” Event
The City of Sheboygan Mayor’s International Committee is thrilled to announce “A Journey to Japan,” the city’s first-ever celebration of its sister city relationship with Tsubame, Japan. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the picturesque Christopher Farm and Gardens.
Marking the 28th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Sheboygan and Tsubame, “A Journey to Japan” promises an afternoon of cultural immersion and family-friendly activities, including:
- Kendo Martial Art Demonstration
- Tea Tasting
- Shodo Calligraphy Demonstration
- Origami Workshop
- Live Performances
- Educational Booths
- Raffles & More!
Mayor Ryan Sorenson expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “This celebration is a testament to the strong bonds we’ve forged with Tsubame over nearly three decades. It’s an opportunity for our community to experience Japanese culture firsthand and strengthen our international friendships.”
In case of inclement weather, a rain date is set for September 22, 2024.

- At the Door: $25 for adults, $10 for ages 12 and under
