Purpose of the Event
“A Night Without Shelter” aims to shed light on the difficulties of homelessness, offering participants a glimpse into what it feels like to spend a night outdoors in Sheboygan. This eye-opening event encourages attendees to bring a tent, cot, or sleeping bag as they stay overnight in the park—without the usual comforts, mirroring the experience of the unsheltered population.
Throughout the evening, various Sheboygan County agencies and volunteers will be on-site to share insights, answer questions, and explain ongoing efforts to address homelessness in the community. Participants are encouraged to stay overnight, though attending the presentation portion alone is also an option. Those staying will have the choice to sleep in vehicles, tents, or even completely unsheltered. However, recreational vehicles are not allowed.
