Antique and Collectibles Store, The Honey Hole, Re-Opens in Sheboygan
The Honey Hole, an antique and collectibles store located at 2904 S. Business Drive in Sheboygan, has recently re-opened its doors to the public after a year of being closed. The store was originally opened to dissolve the owner’s father’s 73-year collection after he passed away, but ended up staying open for three years at its previous location on South Pier Drive. However, due to the pandemic and a change in landlords, the store had to close its doors temporarily.
Despite the temporary closure, the store had a strong following on Facebook and received numerous requests for its re-opening. The store’s owner, Michael Raffel, personally curates the items that are sold at The Honey Hole, including a variety of beer and liquor collectibles, jewelry, and furniture. Raffel sources these items from auctions, yard sales, estate sales, and the internet, and adds new stock to the store every day.
Raffel said that it takes a long time to evaluate and price the shop’s nearly 10,000 items, but he is committed to offering a wide selection of unique and interesting items to his customers. A few items from his father’s collection, including national cash registers, Pepsi and Coca-Cola machines, and jukeboxes, are still available in the store.
In addition to its wide range of antique and collectible items, The Honey Hole is also committed to being environmentally friendly. The store uses compostable packaging and materials and sources at least 70% of its raw ingredients waste-free.
The Honey Hole is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, and Raffel invites both old customers and new visitors to come and browse the store’s selection. “We’re just trying to be – since we’re the only ones here – kind of everything to everybody,” he said.
