New Indian and Nepalese Restaurant, The Spices, Now Open in Sheboygan
“Sheboygan’s The Spices Restaurant Offers a Wide Range of Indian and Nepalese Cuisine”
Sheboygan residents now have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of Indian and Nepalese cuisine at the newly opened restaurant, The Spices, located at 4604 S. Business Drive. The restaurant is owned by Basudev Adhikari, who also owns Jays Food on Indiana Avenue. The building was initially intended to be a gas station, but Adhikari saw the potential for a larger seating area and parking lot and decided to expand his restaurant business.
The menu at The Spices builds upon that of Jays Food, offering popular dishes such as butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. The restaurant also serves a variety of vegetarian options, including paneer, masala, and korma dishes. In addition to these dishes, The Spices offers chow mein, steam or fried momo (dumplings), and authentically made naan using a clay kiln.
Adhikari, who also owns several gas stations in the area, said that as long as he had the right cook, he knew he could handle restaurant management. “I personally love just the feel of dough, watching dough rise and come together and all of that,” he said. “I love the process of it. And once I got pretty good at that, I was like, ‘Gosh, I feel like I could do this every day. It’s just kind of my zen place.'”
The Spices is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, and more information about the restaurant and how to make reservations can be found at thespices2022.com. Sheboygan residents can now enjoy a diverse range of Indian and Nepalese cuisine at this new and exciting restaurant.
