Earlier this month, I was at the Memorial Mall, looking for Christmas gifts. I went into The GameBoard store in the mall to look for a board game for my son.

I was very impressed with this store. They had a great variety of board games. Several of the games were opened up so that you could look at the pieces. The young man who helped me told me that at the other location, you can see all the games opened up, so you can see what they are really like.

This young man (I did not think to ask his name) knew all about the games and how to play them. He helped me find a great game for my son, who is 25 and loves strategy board games. I ended up getting my son the game Carcassonne, and it is a lot of fun. We have played it many times already.

With his help, I also found games for my niece and another young girl on my list.

I can’t wait to visit the other location at 1832 N. 8th Street. I’m sure that if you are looking for a board game for yourself or for a gift, you won’t go wrong by visiting the GameBoard.

By the way, a funny thing happened at Christmas when I gave my son the Carcassonne game. He gave me the same game as a gift too! Now we each have one.

Update: I just got an email from Lynn Potyen, the owner. She told me that the GameBoard is only at the mall around the holidays. Otherwise, you will have to visit their main store on 8th Street (address is below).
