I have just moved to Sheboygan, and already I love it, even though it is winter now and we have tons of snow.

After all, any city that has TWO stores downtown devoted entirely to chocolate can’t be all bad. I received some wonderful truffles from one of them for Christmas.

I also love being so close to the lake. There is something in the air, or maybe in the color of the light, that lets you know that you are near the lake, even when you can’t see it.

Yesterday I got my driver’s license changed to reflect my new address. (The DMV office is right behind the Sears store at Memorial Mall.)

Then I took my license to Mead Library and got a library card. What a beautiful library! It is 3 stories high, light and airy. The library has a beautiful collection of watercolor paintings depicting Sheboygan by Ruben Vega.

As I discover more things about my new hometown, I will post them here in the hopes of helping other newcomers to the wonderful city of Sheboygan.
